Brush Fire Breaks Out near Keller Road in Murrieta

The fire was reported at about 1:55 p.m. near Keller and Meadowlark Roads near the city of Murrieta's northeast boundary.

Murrieta fire crews quickly gained control of a small brush fire Friday.

The fire was reported at about 1:55 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Keller Road and Meadowlark Lane, Murrieta fire Chief Matt Shobert confirmed.

Three to four engine crews responded, he said.

"Seems like they have a handle on it," Shobert said.

No structures were threatened, he said.

The blaze was stopped at about one-third of an acre, according to Murrieta fire Battalion Chief Mario Monroy.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, Monroy said.
