Boy, 3, Dies When Struck by Truck in Temecula

Hit by a truck in an Old Town Temecula parking lot, Sean Abude, 3, of Temecula succumbed to his injuries at 3:10 p.m. Thursday at Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta.

A 3-year-old boy who was struck and killed by a pick-up truck Thursday in an Old Town Temecula parking lot was identified today.

The crash was reported at 2:35 p.m. in the parking lot of Caro's Bakery, 28290 Old Town Front Street, Temecula. A white Chevy pickup was traveling south in the parking area when it hit the boy, sheriff's Sgt. Mark Leggett said.

The boy, Sean Abude, of Temecula was taken by ambulance to in Murrieta, where he was pronounced dead at 3:10 p.m., according to a coroner's report.

"The parking area where this incident occurred was closed for approximately six hours while the Temecula Police Department's Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team conducted their investigation," Leggett said in a news release.

"A cause or associated factor contributing to the accident will be determined upon completion of the investigation."
