Border Patrol Arrest 2 After High-Speed Chase

Upon searching the Honda, U.S. Border Patrol agents allegedly found what appeared to be, multiple types of narcotics including cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana, according to a spokesperson.

Two men suspected of smuggling drugs were arrested when a high-speed Border Patrol pursuit ended Wednesday morning near Vista Murrieta High School, Patch has learned.

The chase culminated when Border Patrol agents performed a PIT—Precision Immobilization Technique— maneuver, according to U.S. Border Patrol Agent Jerry Conlin.

"Shortly after 10 a.m. this morning, agents arrested two male subjects with extensive criminal histories," Conlin wrote in an emailed response to Patch. "Border Patrol agents attempted to stop a blue Honda, however, the driver failed to yield to the agents’ lights and sirens.

Conlin confirmed the pursuit, but could not confirm the location where it ended because the incident was still being processed.

According to a Southwest Riverside News Network report, agents were successful when they deployed the PIT on Whitewood Road, just south of Clinton Keith Road and Vista Murrieta High School.

"More information will be available as the Border Patrol processes the suspected smugglers and narcotics," Conlin wrote.
