The Tuesday will be holding its sixth annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive.
The drive is set for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is the Border Patrol's effort at getting the most blood donated of all the law enforcement agencies in the area.
The event is also intended to give law enforcement personnel, their families and friends the opportunity to give back to the community, according to Socorro Donadio.
Although this year's campaign does not officially begin until Jan. 18, from Dec. 18, 2011 through Jan. 8, 2012, is a period when the blood supply has historically dropped to critically low levels, Donadio said.
All blood drive participants at Tuesday's event will receive a Battle of the Badges T-shirt, a coupon for a free appetizer from Mimi’s Cafe, a coupon for a Free Cold Stone Creamery Creation and a voucher for two tickets to a Los Angeles Clippers game.
Agencies will win awards based on the number and percentage of blood drive particpants, Donadio said.
There will be a $5 processing fee per Clippers ticket, for a total of $10, according to Donadio.
