At Least 1 Injured in Crash on I-15 at Cal Oaks

An injured person was lying on the freeway, according to unconfirmed reports.

UPDATE 8:30 p.m. March 9:

A Murrieta man and his daughter were injured Friday night in a motorcyle crash on northbound Interstate 15 at California Oaks Road.

The man was driving a red Harley Davidson motorcyle at about 25 mph and may have been weaving in and out of freeway lanes, CHP Office Daniel Oxley told Patch.

Both the man and his daughter were thrown from the motorcycle when they hit a construction barrel near a concrete barrier in the far right lane, Oxley said.

The crash occurred at about 7:42 p.m.

The man, who was not identified, suffered moderate injuries, Oxley said. The girl suffered minor injuries.

Both were transported via ambulance to Inland Valley Regional Medical Center, Oxley said.

At least one person suffered unknown injuries in a crash Friday on northbound Interstate 15 near California Oaks Road, according to unconfirmed reports.

The crash occurred around 7:42 p.m. between a motorcyle and a green Ford, California Highway Patrol reported on their website.

The Ford may have been clipped by the motorcyle when it did an unsafe turn, CHP reported.

An injured person was lying on the freeway, according to unconfirmed reports.

The Murrieta Fire Department, California Highway Patrol and American Medical Response were on scene.

Freeway traffic was backed up past Murrieta Hot Springs Road, a witness said.

The onramp from Murrieta Hot Springs Road to Interstate 15 was also beginning to back up as of 8 p.m., the witness said.
