Armed Robbers Hold Up Medical Marijuana Merchants

The alleged attack occurred at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the 38000 block of Innovation Court in unincorporated Murrieta, said sheriff's Sgt. Jon Wade.

Three men are sought for allegedly robbing at gunpoint two people who were attempting to trade or sell medical marijuana to a Murrieta-area dispensary.

The alleged attack occurred at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the 38000 block of Innovation Court in unincorporated Murrieta, said sheriff's Sgt. Jon Wade.

Deputies were flagged down by the two victims, who reported they had been robbed at gunpoint by the three suspects, the sergeant said.

The victims, who were from Riv-Side Dispensary in Riverside, were at the dispensary in Murrieta attempting to sell "excess medical marijuana" when they noticed it was closed, according to Wade.

They were across the street from the business talking with two of the suspects when a third appeared and allegedly brandished a black semi-automatic handgun, taking an undisclosed amount of medical marijuana, Wade said.

The suspects also allegedly robbed the victims of their wallets and keys, Wade said, before they left in a mid-'90s black Honda Accord.

The first suspect was described as a 6-foot-tall black man between 20 and 25 years old weighing 170 pounds with black hair, brown eyes with a silver front tooth.

The second duspect was described as a 5-foot-8-inch-tall white man approximately 25 years old weighing 170 pounds with long, shoulder length hair.

The third suspect--believed to be armed with a handgun--was described as a 6-foot-tall 30-year-old black male weighing 240 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
