The driver, Jack Robert Jurasky, 21, of Murrieta, allegedly lost control of the Altima while traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Clinton Keith Road, Loeffler said.

The Altima left the roadway, crashed through several small trees, and came to rest near a shopping center entrance, he said.

The passenger in the car suffered major injuries, he said.

Jurasky was determined to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash and was arrested on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence/Causing Bodily Injury, Loeffler said.

Jurasky was being held at Southwest Detention Center near Murrieta in lieu of $50,000 bail, jail records indicated.

Anyone with further information about the crash was encouraged to contact the Wildomar Police Department at 951-245-3300.
