Mt. San Jacinto College acted swiftly to keep students and staff safe Thursday morning when it received an alleged bomb threat targeting its San Jacinto campus, a college spokesperson said.
About 200 students and staff were evacuated at about 8 a.m. from a building on the San Jacinto campus, 1499 N. State St., when the MSJC Police Department was notified of the alleged threat, according to Karin Marriott, spokesperson for MSJC.
"MSJC police took immediate action and worked with Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and CalFire law enforcement to ensure the safety of students and staff and to investigate the incident," Marriott said.
The students and staff were evacuated from the building in question and moved to other locations while law enforcement investigated the scene, she said.
"During a 45-minute search of the building nothing suspicious was found."
MSJC police are continuing a criminal investigation into the alleged threat, she said.
