Racism, Nazism... What?????

  Looking at the news this week I am disheartened by the way our citizens and city are being portrayed.  This morning I actually saw an interview by one of the pro immigration supporters calling the other side "A new type of nazism".  What?? How can invoking one of our most basic rights, the right to peacefully protest, be compared to one of the most hateful, despicable parts of our recent history? That person should go back to school to get better informed. 

  This has never been about the children, nor about the race of the immigrants. I don't think anyone, on either side of this debate, wants innocent children to be hurt.  It has been, and always will be about the ILLEGAL immigrants coming over to this country by the thousands, asking for asylum and not following the proper procedures for entering this country legally. It is about not being able to afford the billions of dollars it costs every year to support, transport, house, provide medical care, education costs and other expenses to persons not legally here.  it is about people who are sick and tired of working hard everyday only to see more and more of our dollars taken away to support families that were informed by their home countries that America will take care of them if they come here.

  We simply are not the country that was once able to handle the influx of immigrants.  In recent years we have been slammed by our economy, lost our jobs, and have seen our home prices go in half.  We have seen our neighbors lose their homes, jobs and sometimes families. How can we continue on this path of supporting everyone who comes here illegally, simply put we can't.

  I understand that there is yelling and screaming across the lines but it is on both sides of the fence, not just with the anti immigration protesters.  It is important to keep it peaceful, as after the cameras go away we will still all be part of the same community!
