5 Things to Know in Murrieta Today: June 1

Kids eat free tonight at Big Cheese Pizza.

1.) This hump day the weather will be itching for the start of the weekend! According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly sunny with a high near 74. Tonight, expect patchy fog after 11 p.m. Otherwise, there will be increasing clouds with a low near 49. Winds could gust up to 20 mph, so today might be a good day to wear your hair back.

2.) Make tonight a family night out at , where every Wednesday night kids eat free. Between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., those ages 10 and under eat free with an adult meal purchase. Big Cheese Pizza is located at 41080 California Oaks Road.

3.) Here's what's for lunch today at elementary schools in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District: Teriyaki chicken bowl and a fortune cookie. Lunches are served with a fresh fruit/salad bar and a choice of juice or milk. Lunches average about 684 calories and 29.59 percent fat. To see middle and high school menus, click here.

4.) Thursday the Always Safe & Healthy Safety Consulting and Training company, will be offering a CPR certification class for $59. Beginning at 10 a.m., the class will be held at 26499 Jefferson Ave. There are four spots still available. Always Safe & Healthy offers certification training for the individual and groups in CPR/AED and First Aid.  All child care CPR & first aid courses include EMSA stickers and registration with the state. Certification cards and stickers are issued onsite. Registration is required but can be done by clicking here. Payment can be done at time of registration or the day of, however, cash only will be accepted at the door.

5.) Need some help with making your résumé shine? The Employment Development Department is holding a free Résumé Workshop beginning at 1:30 p.m. today. Topics include developing an effective résumé and composing cover and thank you letters. Located at Southwest Workforce Development Center 30135 Technology Drive, prior registration is required but can be done so by logging on to Rivcojobs.com.
