5 Things to Know in Murrieta: Sept. 18

The Murrieta Public Library is catering to kids and adults today with two very different events.

Beginning at 10 a.m., Friends of the Murrieta Library are hosting guest speaker, Susan Straight, professor of Creative Writing at UCR, and well known writer. Susan's books will also be available for purchase and signing.

Then at 4 p.m., the Murrieta Public Library will host a Princess and Pirate Party for children between the ages of 3 and 12. The event will be held in the Library’s Community Room and will feature games, stories, snacks and a craft.

3. Here's what's for lunch today at elementary schools in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District: a corn dog. Lunches are served with a fresh fruit/salad bar and a choice of juice or milk.
