5 Things to Know in Murrieta: Sept. 15

Register for a free disaster preparedness event to be held Sunday at Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta.

1. The start to the weekend will be hot, according to the National Weather Service. Today is expected to be sunny with a high near 103. Tonight, expect clear skies and a low around 65.

2. is hosting a free disaster preparedness event at 2 p.m. Sunday and as of this posting, room is still available. Learn how to be fully prepared for any crisis and assist the ones you care for during a disaster. For more information and to register, call 714-481-5329.

3. Have an awesome night at the ranch, 34300 Grigg Lane in Winchester, with music with the Painted Dazies, Micheal Mandella, and food from Famous Dave's Legendary Pit Bar-B-Que. Enjoy Casino Night and great raffle prizes. All proceeds benefit Save the Animals Today Horse Sanctuary. The event begins at 6 p.m. and is $75 per person.

4. Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at , kids can create a homework folder.  Located at 24420 Village Walk Place, the activity is free and materials will be provided. Get there early, as it is first come first serve.

5. For those with “Beiber Fever,” don't miss your chance to meet Jasmine Villegas (as seen in Justin Beiber's "Baby" video) today at 3 p.m. at Promenade in Temecula. There will also be a free concert. For more information call guest services at 951-296-0979.
