5 Things to Know in Murrieta: March 23

Between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., the county is hosting a household hazardous waste collection event in the Murrieta City Hall parking lot.

1. The sun will shine anew, according to the National Weather Service. Today, expect clear skies and a high near 76. Tonight, expect patchy fog after 11 p.m., increasing clouds and a low around 46.

2. Between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., the Riverside County Waste Management Department is hosting a household hazardous waste collection event in the Murrieta City Hall parking lot, 1 Town Square, 24601 Jefferson Ave. This event is for residential use only; no business or industrial materials will be accepted. 3. Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Lakeshore Learning Center, kids can create a Spring time door hanger. Located at 24420 Village Walk Place, the activity is free and materials will be provided. Get there early, as it is first come first serve.

4. The public is invited to a free open house beginning at 11 a.m. at California State University San Marcos Temecula Campus, 43890 Margarita Road. 

5. Enjoy a walking tour of old town Temecula beginning at the Temecula Valley Museum, 28314 Mercedes St. Join in on this historical guided tour of Old Town Temecula and feel the early 1900s come to life. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. A $2 donation is requested.
