5 Things to Know in Murrieta: Feb. 23

Join the Inland Empire Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure as they celebrate their 16th year and their 1st Annual Paws for the Cure today.

1. The start to the weekend will be bright, according to the National Weather Service. Expect sunny skies and a high near 66. Tonight, expect mostly clear skies and a low near 38.

2. Join the Inland Empire Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure as they celebrate their 16th year and their 1st Annual Paws for the Cure today beginning at 8 a.m. at Town Square Park. Dedicated to humans and canines, come together to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer, enjoy a walk with others, compete in fun contests and witness some amazing dog entertainment. This event is free and open to all.

3. Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Lakeshore Learning Center, kids can create a dancing puppet.  Located at 24420 Village Walk Place, the activity is free and materials will be provided. Get there early, as it is first come first serve.

4. The 1st Annual Unity Silent Auction benifiting Vista Murrieta High School will begin at 4 p.m. today. Some of the big ticket items include prom tickets, rounds of golf, and movie tickets. There will be appetizers and live entertainment and all proceeds go back to the leadership programs at VMHS. Ticket prices are $3 for students with ID and $5 for adults. Children younger than 10 get free admission.

5. Guilty Conscience is performing at  39809 Avenida Acacias. The performance begins at 9 p.m. so make it a night out with the guys or girls.
