5 Things to Know in Murrieta: Dec. 7

Make plans now to attend a Ballet Folklórico Chistmas Celebration on Saturday at Vista Murrieta High School.

1. It will be another beautiful Southern California day, according to the National Weather Service. Today is expected to sunny with a high near 76. Tonight, expect mostly clear skies and a low around 44.

2. Make plans to attend Murrieta Valley Unified School District’s Ballet Folklórico for their first Christmas Celebration at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Vista Murrieta High School. General admission is $8; admission for children 6-12 is $5, while those 5 and younger get in free. This show promises to have the very best of México with a hint of holiday in it. Tamales, champurrado and churros will be available for sale. Ballet Folklorico is a district-wide high school club that promotes and celebrates Mexican heritage and arts through music and dance.

3. Here's what's for lunch today at elementary schools in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District: a grilled drumstick. Lunches are served with a fresh fruit/salad bar and a choice of juice or milk. Lunches average about 658 calories and 16.29 percent fat. To see middle and high school menus, click here.

4. Make it a girls—or guys—night out for karaoke each Friday at Buffalo Wild Wings, 40484 Murrieta Hot Springs Road, next to Sam's Club. Belt out your favorite tunes while you eat out with friends.
