5 Things to Know in Murrieta: Dec. 6

Parents, your child can receive a letter from Santa Claus himself.

1. Other than drizzle and patchy fog before 10 a.m., today's weather will be nice, according to the National Weather Service. Today is expected to sunny with a high near 71. Tonight, expect patchy fog after 10 p.m., partly cloudy skies and a low around 47.

2. The Vista Murrieta High School jazz band, along with Warm Springs Middle School Ensemble, is performing a concert at 7 p.m. tonight in the school theater. The bands perform several concerts each year, as well as playing on campus and at community events. Admission is $5.

3. Here's what's for lunch today at elementary schools in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District: chicken burger. Lunches are served with a fresh fruit/salad bar and a choice of juice or milk. 4. Parents, your child can receive a letter from Santa Claus himself. With the help of the city of Murrieta, complete the form or call the Santa Line at 951-461-6086. Watch your child's face light up when they receive their letter! Santa's elves will mail letters from now through Dec. 20.
