5 Things to Know In Murrieta: Feb. 25

1. Enjoy the warmth while it lasts, there is special weather statement forewarning of very cold storm that will arrive Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. Otherwise, today will be sunny with a high near 73. Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies with a low near 41.  

2. Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., kids can enjoy a free craft at , 24420 Village Walk Place. On the agenda today: a super silly storybook character. To celebrate Dr. Suess' upcoming birthday, kids will create a stick puppet. The activity is free and materials will be provided. Get there early, as it is first come first serve.

3. , 23785 Washington Ave., is having a rummage sale to benefit multiple sclerosis. Beginning at 7 a.m. they have collected items from several families, including toys, clothes, baby items, household items and various other items. The sale ends at noon. Happy shopping!

4. February is “Love your Library Month," and it's almost over! The Library invites the community to celebrate this occasion by bringing canned food to the Library during the whole month of February in exchange for fines. For each canned good brought in, $1 of fines will be waived up to a maximum of $10 waived. Love your Library Month is celebrated during the month in public, school and private libraries nationwide.

5. The is hosting a men’s adult baseball league that plays on Sundays at the new all artificial turf baseball field at Torrey Pines Park. The Adult League is for any men 18 or older wishing to play baseball. The league will begin tomorrow, however, it is not too late to sign up. Interested teams should obtain all registration information from the adult sports page under Community Services of the city of Murrieta’s website.
