5 Things To Know In Murrieta Today: Oct. 4

The heat wave is over.

1. Cooler temperatures are here, according to the National Weather Service. Otherwise, today is expected to be sunny with a high near 86. Tonight, expect mostly clear skies and a low around 56.

2. Get your showers early! There will be a scheduled water shut down tonight between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The shut down will affect parts of Hyacinth Drive and Hibiscus Court. For more information, click here.

3. Here's what's for lunch today at elementary schools in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District: French bread pepperoni pizza. 4. Chick-fil-A in Murrieta is hosting a fundraiser between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. to benefit Cornerstone Christian School senior football quarterback Dax McGregor, who suffered traumatic injuries in a Sept. 21 game.

5. A Child's Attic, 24710 Washington Ave., offers a Free Story and Music Time every Thursday morning beginning at 10:30 a.m. Bring the little ones and enjoy a fun interactive story time that incorporates music and actions for your child’s enjoyment.
