Maxine Jewell Jackson Dies at 79

She lived in numerous California cities including Lake Elsinore. She died in Murrieta.

Maxine Jewell Jackson, born on Jan. 18, 1934 in Wewoka, Okla., passed away on Feb. 7, 2013 in Murrieta, Calif..

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennett Howell Brooks and Elizabeth Maxine Coutre, sister, Jaqueline Moore, brother, Hal Brooks, and daughter Roberta Lynn Jackson.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald Eugene Jackson of Lake Elsinore; sister, Crystal Brown of Texas; children, Donna Jean Fuller and husband John Fuller of Murrieta, Anita Carol Talbott of Murrieta, Elizabeth Zoe Bell and husband Max Bell of Corona, and Walter Thomas Jackson of Arizona; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Maxine grew up in Oklahoma City where she attended Central High School. She moved to California in 1952. Over the years, she lived in Monterey Park, Fillmore, Alameda, Saugus, Garden Grove, Lakewood, and Lake Elsinore. She also lived for a time in Arizona.

Maxine worked many jobs over the years, including waitress, bookkeeper, credit collector, and bank VP in charge of auto-leasing. After their retirement, Maxine and Don enjoyed traveling, and took many road trips across the country. Funeral services and internment will be at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, California.

Viewing/visitation will be at 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18. The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 1 p.m., followed by a graveside service and a light lunch.
