Murrieta Student Awarded College Scholarship

Murrieta student Sarah Hauser is awarded $1,000 college scholarship by AWA

The Affiliated Workers Association (AWA) has awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Murrieta student Sarah Hauser.  Sarah Hauser, 17, is the daughter of Cindy Hauser. Sarah just graduated from . She and her family have lived in Murrieta for 14 years.  She plans to attend Fresno State University and study accounting.

“The AWA strives to invest in the future of its members and families,” said Neil Peterson, president of the AWA Board of Directors.  “There is no better way to support our members and their dependents than to help them pursue their college educations.”

The scholarships were open to active AWA members between the ages of 18 and 28, as well as legal dependents between the ages of 16 and 28. The students selected are both dependents of members. Consideration was based on academic performance and teacher/supervisor recommendations. College First Foundation is the third-party administrator for the scholarship program.

“I hope to be an accountant for a corporation when I complete my education,” said Sarah. “This scholarship will help me reach my goals.”
