I love riding my mountain bike ALL OVER Menifee and Sun City.  I’m always cognizant of safety as I’m rockin’ out to the Scorpions or to Sammy Hagar.  Rock n’ Roll music helps me to pedal like a Banshee. One of the routes I enjoy is heading westbound on Newport from Antelope, Oooooover the hill to the Canyon Lake Entrance, then flipping a euwie.

The downhill ride is restorative. Once I get going, I don’t want to stop until it gets dark. I usually ride in the late afternoon.  If I’ve got the energy, I’ll head south on either Murrieta or Haun Road all the way to Scott.  Sometimes I’ll shoot past Loma Linda Medical Center to Clinton Keith, heading back via the dirt path, where Whitewood/Meadlowlark Avenue ends at Keller Road.

I find whatever circuitous route exists to get home. I’ve taken many and they’re all refreshingly scenic. I’d like to thank the watchful and patient drivers out there, too, as I’ve made eye contact with some of you as I tip my helmet.

What brought this to mind are the roads ‘round town. The City of Menifee is making vast road improvements, as is the state on the 215 corridor through town. I’ve traversed Newport Road heading east, as well.

A much-needed widening and landscaping project is forthcoming right at the intersection of Menifee and Antelope Road. I’m telling y’all this because it’s a MAJOR thoroughfare. I live RIGHT AROUND THERE. The work commences in early August, so plan alternate routes -- there are many.

Road improvements, as a corollary, impede traffic for a time. There’s more roadwork TBA on Menifee road, too. The vast field in which I fell from my bike a few months ago is slated to become a subdivision, which will connect Menifee Road. I can create some writing work for myself, but the publication, ‘Menifee Matters’, describes in detail some major road improvements heading this way.  I provided the link above. I’m excited about the planned improvements.

In the meantime, I’m heading out later toward Perris. Today, the weather is wonderfully mild enough for a long ride. Then I’m meeting some friends for a movie in the park. Builder Bob awaits; appropo, don’t you think?
