Murrieta Holiday Parade Entry Deadline Approaches

The two entry requirements are that no motors are used and that all entries are somehow lighted.

The city of Murrieta will kick off the holiday season with its annual Holiday Magic Push Cart Parade, and entries are still being accepted.

There is no entry fee for the parade--which is set for 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3 along Washington Avenue in Historic Downtown Murrieta--but creativity is required.

The two entry requirements are that no motors are used and that all entries are somehow lighted, according to Laura Frasso, special events coordinator for the city of Murrieta.

For example, the City Council plans to enter a push cart float with a "Peanuts" theme, Frasso said.

Others may choose pull wagons or ride bikes, scooters or skateboards, she said. The city will also accept marching musical units, specialty groups such as dance teams or clowns, or equestrian or animal units.
