Just How Naive Can We Be?

The Supreme Court is behaving badly.

There are many who believe it would be dangerous to call a Convention where the delegates would have the authority to propose amendments to the Constitution. They fear that the Constitution would be in jeopardy if a Convention to propose amendments were held.

The same people who fear that allowing the delegates of the states to propose amendments are quite willing to allow a panel of nine lawyers in black robes to amend the Constitution by a 5 to 4 vote.

The Supreme Court Justices are employees of "We the People" and only have the authority that we have granted to them. For an employer to allow his employees to tell him what he can and can not do is absolutely absurd.

Our Founding Fathers did not allow Congress to change the Constitution without the consent of three-fourths of the states. Today we allow the Supreme Court make decisons that are not subject to the approval of anyone. I think that for the Supreme Court to amend the Constitution, they should first obtain the approval of three-fourths of the states.
