Easy Eats: Crock Pot Cake

Too hot to turn on the oven? This recipe calls for a crock pot.

Craving a baked treat but feel it is still too hot to use the oven? Then this recipe is for you.

You make a cake in your crock pot. The cake turns out moist and dense. My daughter enjoyed it because it was, “not too sweet.”

  • 1 cake mix (I used chocolate)
  • 1 small box instant pudding (I used chocolate)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup water ( used strong coffee)
  • 3/4 cup canola oil,
  • 12 oz. of chips (I used chocolate chips)
  • Spray coating to grease crock pot

Combine cake mix, pudding mix, sour cream, water and eggs. Beat for two minutes. Stir in chips. Pour into a greased crock pot. I cooked it on high for three hours. Or you could cook on low for five to six hours, depending on your cooker. Check it visually and with a toothpick. Makes 8-12 servings.
