Testing the Waters

Finding a hair salon in the area, a perfect fit.

, I was so excited to snoop around the neighborhood and ask everyone I ran into where they liked to shop, if they knew anyone that had given their time to volunteering, or if there was any event coming up that we, as a community, should know about and guess what? Within a few hours I had a pretty good list of people, places and things to research...nice job Murrieta.

I must tell you that as I asked around, posted questions to the mayor and council members that I had heard of, the response was immediate. Mayor Randon Lane was one of the first to respond and was thrilled to give me the names of some pretty incredible folks here in our neighborhood and also some businesses that have gone out of their way to make a difference here--even in this economy.

Pretty impressive Murrieta!

One of the things I noticed when I moved here were the amount of hair salons in the area. Seemed that there was one on every corner. Everyone I knew went to a different salon but no one felt so strongly that they were willing to recommend it.  Before I took the plunge into Murrieta, I heard about a full-service salon that was fairly new, modern and specialized in color. For anyone who has what my sister calls "special hair," you know that finding a hairstylist that will listen to your wants, set realistic goals and have the chops to make you look your best is a gift.  I called The and spoke with an available stylist, Amy Grieser. She had just walked in but had time to answer some questions. I loved her immediately!  She was professional, funny and available to answer my many questions. (You'd do that right?) Amy invited me to come in for a consult and I fell in love with her modern techniques, ear to listen and witty personality. The salon has a crazy, amazing color bar (for those who want every option) and is absolutely BEAUTIFUL in every way!   Did I tell you the salon has a bath house? It is an experience in itself, with soft music and aromatherapy to enjoy while you get your shampoo and head massage ...love it!

So...that wasn't soo hard. I've been going there for several years now (long before I moved here from Wildomar) but now I can walk to her--haven't yet and not sure I will--but it is close!

Thanks Mayor Lane for making me feel so welcome! Murrieta is beginning to feel like home. Might even begin painting my living room walls and stick around for a while.
