MVHS Freshman Achieves Rank of Eagle Scout

A Court of Honor ceremony for Peyton Wills Heaslip of Boy Scout Murrieta Troop 304 is scheduled for Sunday.

Peyton Wills Heaslip of Murrieta, Calif. achieved the rank of Eagle Scout Nov. 6. His Court of Honor ceremony will be held at Murrieta United Methodist Church on Sunday, Dec. 29. 

Peyton is the son of Miles and Susan Heaslip. He is the grandson of Richard, also an Eagle Scout, and Faye Heaslip and Billy and Elizabeth Seal. 

He is a member of Boy Scout Murrieta Troop 304 of the California Inland Empire Council - Tahquitz District where he serves as Senior Patrol Leader. He is also a member of the Order of the Arrow.

He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 508 of the Sagamore Council in Kokomo, Ind. While in Kokomo, he served as Sr. Patrol Leader, Asst. Patrol leader and other various positions. 

To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a Scout must earn at least 21 merit badges and demonstrate leadership and community service by organizing and carrying out an Eagle project.

For his project, Peyton built a floating dock for Oakbrook Church’s camp at Oakbrook Valley that can be used during their community wide Dad camps. 

Peyton is a freshman at Murrieta Valley High School in Murrieta, Calif. He is a member of the Crimson Cadets marching band, Jazz Band and concert band, Robotics team, and plays drums in his church youth music group. 

Peyton is planning on attending college after graduation to major in chemical engineering and music.
