Joan Sparkman Honored With 'Community Heart Award'

The award recognizes Sparkman's "lifelong contributions in community, leadership, integrity and selflessness."

Murrieta resident Joan Sparkman was recently presented the 2013 Community Heart Award by the Women’s Council of Realtors, Southwest Riverside County Chapter.

The council was established in 1989 in Temecula to empower women to exercise their potential as entrepreneurs and industry leaders. The award recognizes Sparkman's "lifelong contributions in community, leadership, integrity and selflessness." 

A multifaceted individual, Sparkman currently serves as chairperson of the Board of Governors for Southwest Healthcare System which operates Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar and Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta.

She has also served as a Mt. San Jacinto College trustee, a Temecula Valley Unified School District board member and in many other professional and volunteer roles throughout the southwest Riverside County community.

"For more than 40 years, Joan Sparkman has been one of the most influential contributors in shaping the valley’s business climate, organizing and supporting countless charities, as well as fostering quality educational institutions and programs along with serving as voice for quality healthcare," stated Brian Connors, spokesperson for Southwest Healthcare System.
