Temecula Valley Woman's Club Provides 200 Children with Backpacks

The backpacks, filled with school supplies, were presented to local agencies that assist families in need.

More than 200 area children were recipients of backpacks this back-to-school season thanks to the Celebrating Children’s Committee of the Temecula Valley Woman’s Club, according to a news release.

Committee members conducted their second annual backpack program this month. The backpacks, filled with school supplies, were presented to local agencies that assist families in need.

The Committee worked closely with Michelle's Place to help provide backpacks for their Pink Ribbons Program children. Backpacks were also distributed to The Koinania Foster Agency, Rancho Damacitas and Project Touch.

The funds used to purchase the backpacks and school supplies were raised through the TVWC’s annual fundraisers, Gala and Holiday Home Tour.

This year’s Gala, “Pearls & Ponies” will be held at Galloway Downs on Oct. 26.

The Holiday Home Tour will showcase homes located in Temecula Valley’s Wine Country from Nov. 16-17.
