Rickie Fowler Pledges $100K to Oklahoma Relief Effort

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA -- PGA golfer Rickie Fowler, formerly of Murrieta, has pledged to give $100,000 to the relief efforts for Moore, OK, the town hit by a devastating tornado Monday.

The tragedy that claimed at least 24 lives—including two infants—and leveled parts of the town hits close to Fowler's heart. After graduating from Murrieta Valley High School in 2007, Fowler went on to attend and play for Oklahoma State University.

From his Twitter account, Fowler tweets: "OKStrong" and "PrayforOK."

So as he is competing in the Colonial golf tournament in Fort Worth, Tex., Thursday through Sunday, Fowler is urging fans to donate. He plans to match the first $100,000 donated by fans, the Associated Press reported.
