Give Back: Murrieta Fire Department Hosting Food Drive

The fire department is hoping to make this an annual event.

Submitted by the Murrieta Fire Department:

The Murrieta Fire Department with the help of residents from the Colony, Bear Creek, and the Hot Springs, will be holding a food drive to collect food for local Murrieta Valley food pantries.

The food drive will start March 1, 2014 and go until the end of the month. Collection sites will include all five of the Murrieta Fire Stations and at the community centers for each of the three subdivisions.

The Murrieta Fire Department not only responds to those in need during emergencies, but we also believe that by using our resources, we can help those with more long term needs through our community involvement.

"we also believe that by using our resources, we can help those with more long term needs through our community involvement."... Well, if that is true, you will voluntarily cut your bloated salaries and pensions which will surely bankrupt this county and State in the coming years.... And no, we haven't forgotten your illegal "subscription" fee for fire services, without which Murrietans are charged $350 if we call you for help...is THAT the way you "give back to the community"?
