Community Corner

DBE Daughters of the British Empire

Daughters of the British Empire (DBE) is a National non-profit American Society open to women of British or Commonwealth birth or ancestry and wives whose husbands are of British or Commonwealth heritage.  We are organized into small chapters and our local Queen Alexandra chapter covers Southwest Riverside County.  Our primary purpose is to raise funds for our retirement Home and local charities in our community; currently our two local charities are Jacob’s House in Temecula and Lamb’s House in Murrieta.  We also collect in-kind donations throughout the year for the U. S. Vets, Animal Friends and local Food Banks.   Shawn Nelson, founder of Jacob’s House will be the speaker at our September 16th meeting. We have monthly meetings, drink a lot of tea, and make lifelong friendships while working together for a common cause. We enjoy visiting new area restaurants, craft mornings, planning bus trips and having a good laugh.  We are Brits, Canadians, Kiwis, Aussies, and South African, we’ve come from Bahamas, Barbados, India, you name it.
