DAR to learn of Amelia Earhart history

The Luiseno Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet on Tuesday, March 27th, in the Grace Mellman Library’s Community Room in Temecula.  The special guest speaker for this meeting will be Douglas Westfall, noted author, publisher and teacher of America’s history.  Mr. Westfall will be speaking on “Amelia Earhart, The Rest of the Story.”  This will be a most appropriate topic for Women in History month.

DAR meetings are open to any woman interested in tracing her heritage to ancestors of the American Revolution.  Luiseno Chapter Registrar, Marsha Timberlake, will
provide guidance and assistance to anyone wishing to apply for membership.

The Daughters of the American Revolution was founded
in 1890.  Currently, there are approximately 165,000 members in the 3,000 chapters throughout the United States and 11 foreign countries.  Any woman, 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible to become a member.  A patriot is described as someone who may have fought in the war, given arms, funds, medical or other supplies, taken the Oath of Allegiance, or in any way contributed to
the cause.  For more information, phone Membership Chairperson, Marsha Timberlake, 951 677-7443.
