Fundraiser for Sgt. Eric (DOC) Williams Scholarship Foundation

This benefit event is being held on the one-year anniversary of U.S. Army Sgt. Eric Williams' death.

Williams, who lived most of his life in Murrieta, died July 23, 2012 while serving in Afghanistan.

The Sgt. Eric (DOC) Williams Scholarship Foundation was set up in his honor.

From 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, The Habit Burger Grill, 40436 Murrieta Hot Springs Road, will donate 20 percent of its proceeds to the foundation.

The attached flier must be presented at time of purchase in order for the receipt to be credited for the fundraiser.

Foundation members will also be on site handing out fliers for the "evening of remembrance and gratitude for having Eric in our lives."

Williams was a flight medic and the foundation’s goal is to provide scholarships for participants
interested in the EMT certification program at Mt. San Jacinto College.
