WEATHER: Snow Level May Hit 1,250 Feet

Murrieta will see rain, and maybe even a little snow on the foothills, according to the National Weather Service.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect for portions of the Inland Empire, and Murrieta is going to get cold, soaked and maybe a touch of white stuff on the foothills, the National Weather Service is reporting.

Thunder and a 100 percent chance of rain are forecast Saturday; Sunday will see an 80 percent chance of precipitation, according to the NWS. In total, the area is expected to get an inch of rainfall over the weekend, according to the NWS.

The storm could also produce small hail, the weather service advised.

Weekend high temperatures will be in the mid to high 50s, dropping down to around 40 degrees at night, the NWS stated.

Two to 4 inches of snow is forecast to drop to the 2,000-foot level late Saturday night and into Sunday morning.

Snow accumulation of up to 1 inch is possible at the 1,500-foot-level, and snow showers could dust down to 1,250 feet, according to the NWS.

Elevation for Murrieta is approximately 1,100 feet above sea level.
