Storm Closes Santa Rosa Plateau
The popular hiking area is expected to reopen in a few days.
Amid a powerful winter storm that brought wind, rain and cold temperatures to Murrieta Saturday, the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Preserve was closed.
"We had some bridges wash out,'' according to a man at the visitor's center who wished to remain unnamed. "We hope to reopen in a couple of days."
He said conditions were "wet" and "muddy."
