Power Outage Hits Murrieta Early Saturday

It was affecting 495 Southern California Edison customers, most of them commercial.

A blown transformer may have been the cause of a power outage in Murrieta early Saturday.

The outage was reported at 1:31 a.m., according to Southern California Edison's website.

"We are testing the lines to help limit the number of customers affected," SCE reported.

It was affecting 495 customers—most of them commercial—in the Madison Avenue corridor, stretching east to Hancock Avenue and Murrieta Hot Springs Road.

SCE gave an estimated time of restoral of 3 a.m.
