UPDATE: High Winds Return to Region, Fire Watch Issued

Wind gusts of up to 50 mph could occur, according to the National Weather Service.

UPDATE 2 p.m.: A fire weather watch was issued at 1:45 p.m. Saturday by the National Weather Service.

The watch begins late Sunday night and lasts through late Monday night, in areas including Riverside County valleys, the weather service stated.

"These winds will combine with low daytime humidities and poor overnight humidity recoveries to potentially create some fire weather concerns," the weather service stated.

A wind advisory was issued for Riverside County valleys until noon Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. Winds of 20 to 30 mph were expected, with gusts of up to 50 mph.

The series of low-pressure winds blowing northeast were expected to bring the strongest winds Saturday morning though afternoon, picking up again late tonight into Sunday morning, the weather service stated.

On Thursday, but no other major problems were reported.

Another round of strong winds could come late Sunday into Monday, the weather service stated.
