Heat Wave Brings Fire Weather to Region

For Murrieta, the forecast showed high temperatures of 97 on Saturday, 101 on Sunday, and 107 on Monday and Tuesday.

An upper level ridge of high pressure and weak offshore flow will bring very hot and dry weather to Riverside County Sunday through Wednesday, elevating the risk of wildfire in the region, forecasters said today.

Monday and Tuesday will be the hottest and driest days, according to the National Weather Service, which forecast highs in the triple digits in the Inland Empire.

For Murrieta, the forecast showed high temperatures of 97 on Saturday, 101 on Sunday, and 107 on Monday and Tuesday.

"A cooling trend will take place Thursday and Friday of next week as the upper ridge weakens and onshore flow returns," according to a weather service advisory.
