Flood Warning Issued for Murrieta

Rainfall is forecast until Sunday, and a flood warning is in effect.

Rain was forecast until Sunday, and a flood warning was issued for Murrieta today.

“Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels in creaks and streams,” read a National Weather Service statement.

The chance of rain will shrink from 60 percent to 20 by this evening. Today’s high temperature was forecast for 53 and the low for 40 with winds blowing at 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Tomorrow was forecast for a 20 percent chance of rain before 11 a.m. The high should be 58 degrees, the low for 41. Wednesday should see a 30 percent chance of rain before 11 a.m., but that will grow to a 50 percent chance by the evening. Despite the rain, the sky should be mostly sunny with a high of 60 and a low of 44 degrees.

Thursday should bring a 20 percent chance of rain with a high of 59 and a low of 45.

Friday and Saturday will have a chance of rain until Sunday, which was forecast for warm and sunny with a high of 63 degrees.
