Flood Advisory Issued For Murrieta, Region

The advisory was in effect until 5 p.m.

An urban and small stream flood advisory was issued by the National Weather Service Friday afternoon.

The advisory was in effect until 5 p.m. for Murrieta and other cities in western Riverside County.

One-half to three-quarters of an inch of rain was expected to fall before then, according to the Weather Service.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent, according to the Weather Service.

San Diego County was also on advisory.

The advisory affects Interstates 5, 15 and 8.

"Highways will have significant ponding of water and runoff..." NWS stated.
