There are low-cost vaccination clinics for dogs and cats throughout the county that can help save a few dollars on this necessary expense.

Vaccinations for dogs and cats can be expensive, but protecting pets against disease is an important part of responsible ownership.

There are low-cost vaccination clinics for dogs and cats throughout the county that can help save a few dollars on this necessary expense.

At in Murrieta, low-cost vaccinations are offered one Saturday a month, including from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. this Saturday, June 25. The next vaccination dates are July 23 and Aug. 20. Call 951-461-6993 for more information and fee schedules.

A monthly low-cost vaccination clinic at offers services the third Saturday of each month from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The park is located on the corner of Main Street and Limited Avenue; the clinic takes place near the gazebo.

Canine vaccination:

DHLPP-Coronavirus: $17

Lyme: $15

Bordetella: $8

Rabies: $6

Rattlesnake Vaccine: $12

Feline vaccination:

RHCP: $8

Feline Leukemia: $12

Rabies: $6

Dog and cat licensing are also available at the shot clinics. (Bring spay/neuter and rabies certificates if applicable.)

Beginning June 20, Riverside County Animal Services is offering vaccinations at its San Jacinto Valley Animal Campus, Monday through Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. There is no appointment necessary.

The San Jacinto Valley Animal Campus is located at 581 S. Grand Ave. in San Jacinto.

The fee schedule is as follows:

Canine vaccination:

DHPP: $9

Bordatella: $6

Rabies: $6

Feline vaccination:

FVRCP: $7

Rabies: $6 (for cats 4 months of age and older).

Microchips are also available for all pets. The cost for a microchip is $20, which includes a lifelong registration. Pet owners are encouraged to update the information associated with an animal, such as a new cell phone number or a change of address.

The Ramona Animal Clinic holds a vaccination clinic Wednesday through Saturday. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.). Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. No appointments are needed.

The clinic is located at 500 Humane Way, San Jacinto (1 blk. West of State Street on 7th).

The fee schedule is as follows:
