Murrieta Mesa to Host the Nighthawks

Rams looking for first league win

Murrieta Valley travels cross town Friday night to face an explosive Ram team looking to upset the Nighthawks and win their first league game.

Murrieta Mesa is coming off a 56-7 loss to Chaparral last week and is motivated to show that they are the team that went 4-0 in the beginning of the season.

Led by quarterback Chase Chambers, the Rams have a dangerous offense with the potential of scoring quickly and often. Look for Khalil Sharpe and Danny Castro, to test the Nighthawk defensive secondary early and often.

The Rams have struggled to acheive a consistent running game, and have lived and died with the pass.

The Nighthawk defense has been improving every game. Led by captains Charlie McKee and Andrew Hudson, Murrieta Valley has shut down opponents in clutch situations.

Over the past five games, Murrieta Valley has improved its record to 6-1. Sam Allen, Michael Payne and Noah Johnson create havoc for opposing offenses. Terin Solomon, De Sean Bullock and Damon Nolan are anticipating a busy evening defending against the Ram passing attack.

Murrieta Valley’s offense is looking for a breakout performance this week. The running tandem of Jack Magpusao and Jacob Augustine has been a vital element of the team’s success this year. The young Nighthawk offensive line needs to keep opening holes and creating opportunities for the two talented backs.

In the air, Murrieta Valley has improved every game. Quarterback Andrew Blake has teamed up with a score of talented receivers, led by Brandon Iacobellis, Kale Novak and Jaleel Shabazz. Blake can also utilize speedy wide receiver Sean Young and the versatile Jack Magpusao out of the backfield.

Come out and support your local teams Friday night. The Rams host Murrieta Valley at Murrieta Mesa High School. Vista Murrieta travels to Great Oak in Temecula. Both games start at 7 p.m. See you at the game!
