The City of Murrieta will observe Memorial Day with a ceremony near its Veterans Memorial.
The tribute to service members "who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of this nation" will take place at 8 a.m. Monday, May 27 near the memorial at Town Square Park, according to Laura Frasso, special events coordinator.
The keynote speaker for the solemn ceremony will be U.S. Navy Lt. Daniel Larsen, a 15-year Murrieta resident.
Mayor Rick Gibbs, an Air Force veteran, is also scheduled to speak.
Seating will be limited, Frasso said. The public is encouraged to bring their own chairs if they wish.
