Brush Fire Affects Traffic on Northbound I-15 in Temecula

A small brush fire Thursday afternoon prompted a SigAlert on northbound Interstate 15 in Temecula.

The blaze was reported shortly after 3 p.m. on the right-hand side of the northbound side of the freeway, just south of Rancho California Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department crews are on scene.

The SigAlert was issued at 3:11 p.m. and was expected to remain in place for approximately one hour, according to the CHP.

It was not immediately clear what started the blaze.
