99¢ Only Store Helps Murrieta Woman Celebrate 99th Birthday

Turning 99 years old doesn’t come around every day.

That’s exactly why Mildred “Millie” Fox of Murrieta was excited to celebrate this very special day in a very special way. On Friday, Fox received a 99-second shopping spree experience and free birthday cake, courtesy of 99¢ Only Stores® at her local store in Murrieta, 25270 Madison Ave.

Murrieta Mayor Rick Gibbs was on hand for the celebration.

“Millie Fox was delightful and honored,” Gibbs said. “There were five generations of her family there including her 82-year-old son.”

Fox, mother of seven, has been living in Murrieta for the past 12 years and has always loved shopping at 99 Cents Only Stores. Fox says that she likes shopping at 99¢ Only Stores® because “you get more for your money and find many of the same items that you would find at other stores for less.” She also says it “helps her social security check go further.”

For many years she would visit her local store twice a week with her girlfriend to stock up on some of her favorite items such as canned peaches and general toiletry items.

Her son, Gary Fox said she was “so tickled to be able to do this!”

Fox's caregiver, Susie Cortina assisted by wheeling her around in her wheelchair through the store for the exciting occasion Friday morning.

It was 99¢ Only Stores® very first 99th birthday celebration.
