5 Things to Know in Murrieta Oct. 27

1. There is a red flag warning for high winds today, according to the National Weather Service. Otherwise, today will be sunny with a high near 77. Tonight expect clear skies with a low around 48.

2. The  is hosting its ninth annual Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 11 and applications are due today by 4 p.m. In lieu of an entry fee, the city requests a voluntary donation of $25 per group. The parade will travel through Historic Downtown Murrieta and end at Town Square Park for the unveiling of the Korean War Wall at the Veterans Memorial. TRAFFIC ADVISORIES: For tonight, closures are as follows:

INTERSTATE 215: Lane closures are scheduled for Interstate 215 between Clinton Keith and Scott roads. The northbound and southbound number one lanes will experience intermittent closures between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. due to roadway excavation.

CALIFORNIA OAKS ROAD/KALMIA STREET at Interstate 15 will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. tonight through Oct. 28. The closures are due to construction on the freeway bridge, as well as road and ramp improvements.
