A 3.1-magnitude earthquake rattled Idyllwild today, but there were no immediate reports of damage.
The temblor was recorded about four miles southwest of the mountain community at 2:09 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
Idyllwild is located in central Riverside County, just west of Palm Springs.
The epicenter was 25 miles from Murrieta and Temecula.
Some residents from both cities reported experiencing the earthquake, according to responses recorded by USGS.
