Crime Victims Week 2013 - THE COST TO YOU. AND TO ME...

Every day NOW, I listen to the outside world complain about the cost of incarceration, the cost of the Death Penalty and the cost of the judicial process.  Society squabbles shallowly over these issues, like a woman with a fist full of coupons, shopping for bargains at the grocery store…  ONLY CAPABLE of looking at this issue, to save money.

Because the truth is, these issues ARE - THAT meaningless to THEIR lives.  They still BELIEVE, they have CHOICES about these issues...

But to each and every Parent of a MURDERED CHILD,

And to each and every VICTIM of Violent Crime,

We see too clearly THE ONLY RIGHT CHOICE that should ever BE made!    

BECAUSE THESE ISSUES DO DEFINE – our LIVES, and our FUTURES!

IT HAS ALREADY COST US  – NO SMALL PRICE, TO NOW “BE” WHAT WE ARE…

VICTIMS.

Just what PRICE, do we really place on a HUMAN LIFE?   This is a most difficult question to ask.  A question, I debate NOW each day…  For those standing on the outside of murder, this debate ALWAYS comes back around to “what about the LIFE- of the MURDERER?”   They do not understand, nor do they care to really look at, what each and every MURDERER HAS DONE IN KILLING EACH VICTIM…  The CHOICES, each MURDERER HAS MADE, to kill.  They will NEVER understand, this sick pleasure MURDERERS derive, IN KILLING…

But for those of us standing ONLY, on the inside of MURDER NOW?  ALL we see – is the heinous brutality, pain, horror, terror and suffering our loved ones have died inside of.  We have now taken off our ‘rose colored glasses’ and see each MURDERER in it’s true image:  PURE EVIL.

We are unable, to put those glasses back on ever again, to see that rosey world once more.  For MURDER JUST DOES – CHANGE EVERYTHING!  We now go forward in this world, enlightened to these things of Murder.   We understand EACH MURDERER IS VICIOUS.  We clearly see the CHOICE each Murderer HAS MADE, to throw it’s own life away to fulfill it’s desire to kill.  And just like a RABID DOG, we understand that each Murderer should NEVER be let loose again in our society.  Just like a RABID DOG, it should ONLY be put down.  It is the only way society CAN protect itself from something this irreparably diseased.

And then this debate inevitably, comes back to the fact that I AM A VICTIM.  Therefore, I ONLY WANT VENGEANCE.  That is surely the only way, I could compare a MURDERER to a RABID DOG…  I want to feel sorry for this blind, deaf and dumb society.  That they so miserably fail to see that I speak with wisdom, not vengeance.  That I, have in FACT, stood face to face with a MURDERER, battling with it for my own life, and the lives of others?  That I have witnessed the gratifying PLEASURE it takes in killing?

I offer my own examples to the outside world, in discussing this.  I explicitly explain each stab wound William Gary Simpson inflicted upon my Saskia.  I share HER HORROR, HER TERROR, HER PAIN, by explicitly explaining her SCREAMS I heard as Simpson was stabbing her that morning.   I let the outside world KNOW, that William Gary Simpson stood there that morning - SMILING, HOLDING THE BLOODY MURDER WEAPON IN HIS HAND.  Smiling too, as he continued to stab Paul and Connor.  I let them know HOW IT WAS SIMPSONS CHOICE TO MURDER – after witnessing Connor on his knees, begging Gary to let him LIVE – AND THE CHOICE GARY MADE FOR HIMSELF, TO BRING THAT KNIFE DOWN, TWICE, INTO CONNORS KNECK!

This young man, William Gary Simpson, was in fact – someone we had LOVED for a very long time.  Someone who was in fact, one of my son’s BEST FRIENDS.  And just like Archie, our family dog, whom we all LOVE, and IS our best friend in this life now – IF Archie were to become RABID, I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO PUT HIM DOWN TO PROTECT US ALL.   Gary is now RABID, and this is how simply I see it all.  No vengeance.  Certainly, no revenge being applied here.  I just this simply, look TO PROTECT EVERY HUMAN LIFE FROM SIMPSON NOW…

I also, strive to help the outside world understand this MOST important aspect of it all…  AS I LOOKED INTO WILLIAM GARY SIMPSONS SMILING FACE THAT MORNING, I WAS GOING TO KILL HIM!  I - IN FACT, BEGAN HITTING HIM WITH EVERY INTENTION OF KILLING HIM!  William Gary Simpson did in fact, ALREADY CHOOSE DEATH FOR HIMSELF! 

He could have died here in our home, during his attack, as we battled with him. He could have been killed during the 4-day manhunt for him, after our attack. He could commit suicide, or be killed by another murderer while in jail awaiting trial.  He KNEW California had the Death Penalty as an option for sentencing at the time he CHOSE to commit MURDER, after all, he is a well-educated and intelligent man – and his Father is a Police Officer… NOT WANTING TO GET CAUGHT AND SENTENCED TO DEATH, after all, is WHY he did so much planning BEFORE his attack.  Even planning out AN ESCAPE for himself IF he did not succeed in MURDERING US ALL…  Because HE DID NOT WANT TO GET CAUGHT AND FACE THE PUNISHMENT.  And in the end?

NO MATTER WHAT SENTENCE HE NOW RECEIVES, IT IS GIVEN WITH THE INTENTION THAT HE WILL IN FACT DIE BEHIND BARS!

Any way you look at it?  HE’S ALREADY DEAD.

Every MURDERED Victim has paid an ULTIMATE PRICE –

It has cost Saskia Savana Burke – her LIFE!

It has cost me, my Saskia, my sanctuary, my happiness, my peace – yes, my LIFE too!

It has cost everyone in our lives – US!

Oh, and let us not forget the cost of the damage done during Gary’s attack, to our home and possessions.  All said, Gary has cost us almost $30,000.00 in monetary damages.  Of which our insurance company has only offered almost $6,000.00…  It is a most irrelevant cost to us now, after everything else, but - still a cost nonetheless.

THE COST of what William Gary Simpson chose to do in making us Victims, FAR EXCEEDS this monetary cost the outside world complains about.  And yet in their ignorance to face what these Murderer’s truly ARE?   In their inability to look at ALL we Victims have REALLY LOST?   They selfishly squabble over a few pennies saved here and there, and have absolutely NO IDEA of what it is they are doing when they protect MURDERERS from the Death Penalty...

And so, we add one more cost to our tally sheet.  A COST, that does not affect US any longer – it only affects all of YOU.  We have been stripped naked to the world, and society will only see us as Victims now.  Anything we say or do, has absolutely NO VALIDITY to society, because of how THEY FEEL about us AS Victims.  Society chooses to look at Victims as only an angry and vengeful mob, with pitch forks and a noose...  My words of wisdom, meant to protect ALL OF THEM, will only fall on deaf, blind and dumb ears now.  

If only you could see, what we VICTIMS are fighting for…  To keep YOU from paying the SAME PRICE –

WE HAVE ALREADY PAID!
