Traveller's Café Offers a Taste of Adventure

Traveller's Café brings its international comfort food to Taste of the Valley Murrieta Jazz Fest Sunday.

The Traveller’s Café in Temecula has made traveling the world to sample the cuisine of different cultures a thing of the past. 

Those looking to spoil their taste buds with exotic flavors will get exactly what they are looking for at the Traveller’s Café. Many describe the café, at 26485 Ynez Road, Suite. N, as a fusion restaurant. But owner Billy Fong describes it as international comfort food.

“In a fusion restaurant they mainly combining dishes to create a completely different dish,” Fong said. “We do have some menu items like that but our goal is to provide different international food is one location.”

With Mexican, Korean, Italian and Mediterranean items on the menu, it seems Fong may have an international hit on his hands. 

Many restaurant-goers have fallen in love with the food, with the reviews on Yelp and the Traveller’s Café Facebook page boasting great menu options full of flavor.

Additionally, Fong has become a hit himself with his warm personality and ability to create a comfortable atmosphere.

A current resident of Riverside and a former mathematics teacher in Riverside County, Fong is a self-proclaimed foodie.  

“I love experimenting with different kinds of food and flavors,” Fong said.

One of his favorite dishes is his bulgogi fries.

"It’s a crazy dish with the sum being greater than its parts,” he said. “It’s a perfect blend of spicy and creamy flavors.”

Guests at the  this Sunday will get to try Fong's international cuisine firsthand. He will be featuring bulgogi sliders, a fan favorite.

While Fong is excited to be able to help the community, he has another goal in mind.

“Many of my customers tell me I have the best burgers. This will be a great opportunity let others find out for themselves," he said.

Taste of the Valley/Murrieta Jazz Fest is a district-wide extravaganza benefiting all four middle school music programs, plus all three high schools. The event will feature food from local restaurateurs and caterers, performances by jazz bands from Murrieta Mesa and Vista Murrieta high schools and Shivela Middle School, along with several professional artists.

Taste of the Valley begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, at  in Murrieta. A book of 10 tastings is $20 per person. All proceeds from the event will benefit the instrumental music programs of the participating schools. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
