Starbucks with Drive-Thru Coming to Los Alamos Road

Murrieta's newest Starbucks, just east of I-215, will open this spring, a company representative said.

The building in the Murrieta Gateway Center that formerly housed the Murrieta Public Library is being transformed into a Starbucks, a company representative confirmed Monday.

“Starbucks is always looking for great locations to better meet the needs of our customers, and we are happy to confirm that we will be opening a new location with a drive-thru on Los Alamos Road in Murrieta this spring,” a Starbucks spokesperson wrote in an emailed response to Patch.

The building at 39589 Los Alamos Road, just east of Interstate 215, has for the most part sat vacant since 2007 when the Library moved to its new, permanent location at 8 Town Square.

While construction of the Starbucks is underway—a drive-thru window appears to be complete—there are detours in place for motorists entering and exiting the main driveway of shopping center.

This newest location will bring the total number of Starbucks in Murrieta back to five.

In spring 2013, the Starbucks on Hancock Avenue in the Stater Bros. center was shuttered. The company at that time said it was planning to open another but did not disclose the location.
